Tunisia is waiting for Russians
Minister of Tourism Tunisia Habib Ammar announced that in the coming days, the Mediterranean country expects 82 flights with foreign tourists, and he named tourists from Russia first.
Now Russian airlines have received permits for flights to Tunisia, but officially this country has not yet been opened by the Russian Operating Staff.
In the near future, tourists from Russia, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Poland, Luxembourg will begin to arrive in Tunisia. The minister did not disclose any details about the number of expected tourists. However, he said the arrival would begin the recovery of Tunisia’s tourism sector, which has been hit by the pandemic.
The restoration will allow 400,000 people to resume their activities in the tourism business, which is the second largest source of GDP in Tunisia.
Habid Ammar and a senior government delegation visited Russia in late April. Their main goal was officially declared the opening of flights and the invitation of Russian tourists. It should be noted that Tunisia has purchased a large batch of the Russian vaccine Sputnik-V (details), which means the probability of its discovery by the Operator General Staff is quite high. Experts expect the opening of the country in the near future.
The Minister of Tourism recalled that Tunisia allows tourists, provided they have a PCR test, which was taken 72 hours before the trip.
