Travel agents opposed the ban Booking in Russia
The news about the intention to limit the activities of Booking in Russia caused a wide public outcry. Participants of professional communities began an active discussion of the initiative of the head of the company “Svoy TS” Sergey Voitovich.
Under the text of his open appeal, which was sent to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, there are comments in which there is both criticism and support for the idea.
In his letter, Voitovich urges officials to study the inclusion of the booking system in the counter-sanctions package. According to lawyers, this proposal can be implemented.
Most representatives of tourist retail did not find sense in restrictive measures. The survey, organized on the site of the online magazine HotLine, was attended by more than 880 users, 55% opposed the ban Booking.
38% of respondents shared the position of Voitovich. “It would be nice to deal with the main competitor of the tourism industry on the wave of sanctions,” 15% of them rub their hands in advance. “These Americans are strangling the Russian economy,” 14% added. 9% believe that the ban will be possible if the American service really violates the laws of the Russian Federation.
The remaining 7% are confident in the ability to bypass the blocking of any online resource.
