Turkey and Tunisia: where to save money and how to relax
For Russian travelers Turkey Traditionally, the country number one, and according to experts, 2019 is no exception. The second place will probably be Tunisia, which is gaining popularity among Russians, in 2018, 600,000 travelers from our country visited there.
According to experts of a large domestic tour operator, now sales on the action "early booking" in Tunisia exceed last year's figures for the same time by 156%. There is growth in Turkey, but less (18%).
Among the factors determining such dynamics, experts call the search for alternatives to Turkey, which at the stage of early booking rose in price by at least 10-15%. Hoteliers in Tunisia are in no hurry to increase the cost.
“We have programs in Tunisia start from the end of March, and the prices with Turkey are about the same – from 22 thousand rubles per person,” says A. Khitrova, head of the public relations department of a major tour operator. In the summer, the difference is a little more noticeable: for the campaign "early booking" Turkey - from 23 thousand rubles per person in a hotel category four stars on the food system "all inclusive", in Tunisia the same conditions - from 28 thousand.
The service OneTwoTrip estimated that the difference between Turkey and Tunisia is three times in February (11 thousand and 34 thousand rubles) per person. In June – 18 thousand and 24 thousand rubles, respectively. “But there is a huge difference in supply. In Turkey, operators in the days considered by us offer more than a thousand tours, in Tunisia — a little more than a hundred.
“Of the advantages of Tunisia, I would single out a milder climate and a wide strip of sandy beaches, as well as thalassotherapy – this is what people go there all year round,” says A. Zaretsky, director of Travelata aggregator.
Tunisia as a more exotic country is more interesting in comparison with Turkey, but the Republic of Turkey is more budget-friendly, and early booking allows you to buy the best hotels for little money.
“Tourists first of all need to remember that Turkey and Tunisia are two completely different countries, although they are located on the shores of the same sea,” the press service of the major tour operator said. Countries with completely different history and traditions, culture and cuisine. But they are united by a high level of service, a variety of opportunities for recreation of any category of tourists and interest in the Russian market.
In Turkey, you can find sandy, pebble and sandy-pebble beaches, and the coast of Tunisia is sandy. Both countries have the potential for beach holidays.
There is a difference in entertainment: in Turkey, there are activities for children and adults on the hotel grounds, in Tunisia, people need to go outside the hotel.
"One cannot say that one format is good and the other is bad," the tour operator's press service said. - Everyone has their own fans.
Tourists celebrate a wide range of excursions in Tunisia, the Sahara and Carthage. From Antalya and Belek (Turkey) there are excursions to Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, but they are popular with tourists without young children. In both countries there are resorts for young people and quiet hotels for the whole family.
A. Khitrova is sure that both countries have more similarities than differences: destinations are in demand among Russian organized tourists. “Turkey is a more return destination than Tunisia. And when choosing a country for their first trip, travelers are likely to opt for Turkey. Tunisia is an attractive alternative for adult couples or families with adolescents.”
