Turkey reduces quarantine restrictions and opens seaside resorts

However, these measures will affect only local domestic tourists. These are the first steps of the “normalization plan” announced by the president. Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

However, foreign tourists, including Russian ones, are unlikely to return to Antalya hotels until autumn.

The first stage of quarantine lifting is scheduled for May 11 - shopping centers, hairdressers, beauty salons will work. Entry bans will be lifted in seven cities where the coronavirus has been taken under control, including the resorts of Antalya and Bodrum. Istanbul and Ankara will not be affected.

In Turkey, there is an opportunity to “play back” the exemptions – since the country still ranks 8th in the world in terms of the number of infected people – more than 127,000 cases have been registered.

According to local analysts, incoming tourists can not count “until autumn”, and this season the tourist market will have to develop rules of social distance.

Hotels are also considering requiring guests to have a coronavirus safety certificate, temperature measurements and even quick virus tests.
