Tourists from Russia will be allocated separate halls at Egyptian airports
Magdi Sadek, a member of Egypt’s Chamber of Tourist Companies, believes that the country’s leadership may hand over separate halls in the air harbors for tourists from Russia to guarantee security and control conditions.
Russian tourists are expected to return to Egypt soon, especially after the meeting of the two presidents – Egypt and Russia – at the BRICS summit. The Egyptian government should allocate a part of the halls for the Russian aircraft to provide them with special conditions of security and control without prejudice to Egyptian sovereignty. This measure is recognized in all countries of the world and does not harm the sovereignty of the state, the expert said.
The Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov noted that Russia has not received an invitation from colleagues from Egypt to assess the security of airports resorts of the Red sea. Maksim Sokolov, however, noted that there are no questions for Cairo: The latest inspection showed that the new terminal of Cairo airport generally complies with international and Russian aviation security requirements. There are no technical obstacles to the resumption of flights.”
According to the minister, there is a possibility of restoring air traffic between Russia and Egypt during the current year. It is likely that the first direct scheduled flights will begin to fly between the capitals of the two countries. By winter, the restoration of charter communication with the resorts of the Red Sea is expected.
