Tourists are promised a 100% refund on previously purchased vouchers

The state Duma promised the Russians 100% compensation of funds spent on vouchers that were previously bought, but then canceled because of the coronavirus.

This applies to Russian and foreign travel. This statement was made by Mikhail Degtyarev, head of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs.

According to M. Degtyarev, we are talking about the law on additional powers of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation in emergency situations.

In the bill on emergency measures, which was introduced by the government, there is also a clause that all tourists who bought tours abroad and inside Russia in advance will receive one hundred percent compensation and a refund of money. It's the law. No tour operator has the right to withhold funds after the adoption of this law this week, said Mikhail Degtyarev.

The following answer was given to the question of where the travel agencies will take the funds from: in the bill introduced to the State Duma on March 26, there is a proposal to give the government the right to make a decision on the return of funds from the personal liability fund of tour operators in case of restrictions on entry to foreign countries. If the Cabinet of Ministers makes such a decision upon termination of the contract before the start of the trip, the paid amount will be returned to the tourist in full, and after the start of the trip - its part, proportional to the cost of non-provided services.

Also, Mikhail Degtyarev said that 50 thousand Russian tourists remain abroad (by March 30). For their export, the funds of personal liability funds of tour operators will be used, their total volume is 1.7 billion rubles.
