Tourists and tour operators hope to continue the cashback program in 2022
The Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) sent official letters to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin and the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova with a request to extend the program of tourist cashback next year.
According to ATOR, cashback gives regions of Russia from 5 to 25% of additional tourist flow.
Tourist cashback, in addition to financial support, allowed Russians to take a different look at travel in the off-season, tourists appreciated the opportunities that vacation provides at this time of year. And another important fact that is important to take into account when making a decision to extend the program – Russian tourists began to plan their travels.
The tourist cashback program opened for Russians new types of recreation and travel in the Russian Federation, which were previously inaccessible to them primarily because of the cost - river cruises, trips to Baikal, the Far East, etc.
Cashback stimulated the flow of tourists in the off-season, supported the interest of tourists to a year-round holiday in Russia.
According to a survey by the ATOR Analytical Service, 24.4% of respondents did not plan a vacation in Russia until they learned about the cashback program.
The Russians themselves highly appreciated the cashback program and are waiting for its continuation. The ATOR hotline has already received more than a thousand calls from Russian citizens who are persistently interested in the timing of the next program and tour operators participating in it in order to plan their future vacation as profitable and convenient as possible.
The program has proved effective, and tourists are waiting for its continuation - leading tour operators of Russia ask the government to extend the tourist cashback and propose the timing of new promotions in 2022.
The most optimal for consumers and businesses will be the periods of stocks with cashback from January 10 to April inclusive and from October 1 to the end of December 2022. For river cruises, the cashback program can also include trips of tourists in May, June, September.
