Tourists from Russia provided Turkey with almost 40% of the total tourist flow
Over the past eight months of 2017, 6.97 million foreign tourists managed to rest in the Republic of Turkey, the increase in tourist flow by 2016 is 66%. The full-scale return of Russia added a significant contribution to this indicator.
Only in Antalya, Russians provided 38% of the total tourist flow. In second place - Germany - 15.6%, the third - Ukraine - 7.8%, then the UK - 3.6% and Kazakhstan 2.9%. Other markets lag behind domestic markets in terms of volume.
Antalya was visited by 2.66 million travelers from Russia, in August – not the best month for Turkey because of the scandal around the Coxsackie virus – 654 thousand tourists from Russia rested in hotels in Antalya.
Consequently, even compared to 2015, the Russian market added 22.6%, and approached the successful 2014 (2.78 million tourists).
