Is ultraviolet a drug?

Crowded beaches, the ever-increasing number of tanning beds led scientists to the idea that people are attracted not only by a beautiful tan. After all, it would seem that the media constantly report the harmful effects of ultraviolet light! But the possibility of skin cancer and premature aging does not scare fans of bronze skin. The researchers conducted an experiment in which 422 students filled out questionnaires that are commonly used to identify alcohol addictions. Only questions about alcohol were replaced with similar ones about tanning beds. As a result, of the 230 people who regularly use the services of tanning salons, slightly less than half have such an addiction. It was also found that these same students have other addictions (from marijuana, alcohol) and are prone to depression. Summing up, scientists concluded that various dependencies are related, including ultraviolet.
