Urals boldly go to Turkey for the May holidays
Tour operators are waiting for the recovery of demand for the direction for the May holidays. A letter from Rosaviatsiya about a possible ban on charter flights to Turkey led to a significant decline in booking this destination for the May holidays. The Urals is no exception, but tour operators predict a recovery in demand for Turkey in early May.
Before the letter appeared, Turkey in the Urals beat all sales records for the May holidays due to the large number of flights (about 15 per week), and, accordingly, low prices for vouchers, which amount to 15-20 thousand rubles per person against 30-40 thousand rubles last year. Today, tourists take a cautious position - there are practically no new reservations, but there are no refusals from tours already booked, said Olga Gulyar, director of the Winter-Summer group of companies.
According to Olga Gulyar, tour operators assume that demand will recover directly during the May holidays - tourists will begin to purchase vouchers immediately before departure.
Rosaviatsia has warned the participants of the tourist market about the closure of charters in case of growing tensions between Russia and Turkey. However, the Turkish side, judging by the reviews, will try to do everything to prevent this from happening, since Turkey is very interested in tourists from Russia, they are very much waiting for them, Olga Gular added.
In addition to Turkey, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic are popular among the Urals on May holidays. Among Russian destinations, tours to Sochi are actively booked, which are comparable in cost to Turkey. But the Crimea remained almost unclaimed due to the discrepancy between the levels of prices and service.
