Ural tourists are not afraid of the earthquake in Turkey
The earthquake in the Aegean Sea, which touched the Turkish resorts of Bodrum and Marmaris, as well as the Greek Kos, did not bother tourists from Yekaterinburg. According to Olga Gulyar, director of the Winter-Summer group of companies, there is no panic among tourists, as well as refusals from already purchased or planned trips.
Turkey and Greece are among the most popular tourist destinations in the summer of 2017. The popularity is reinforced by relatively low prices, which were established against the background of a large number of flights, as well as bad weather and lower quality of service on domestic hot destinations, Golyar said. These factors outweigh fears of natural disasters. It is also important for tourists that the tremors occurred not in the rest areas themselves, but in the distance. The only possible consequence is the reorientation of tourists from Bodrumi, Marmaris and Kos to other resorts in Turkey and Greece, but this is not yet observed; sales of tours to these and other destinations remain high.
An earthquake in the Aegean Sea of magnitude 6.7 occurred on the night of 21 to 22 July. In the resorts near its epicenter there was local destruction of objects and panic, the number of victims was about 200 people. According to Rosturizm, in Russia immediately after that the flow of those wishing to refuse trips to Turkey and Greece increased.
