UTair to send businessmen to Munich
The management of UTair Airlines announced its intention to launch a regular flight from Chelyabinsk to Munich from spring 2013. The company expects assistance from the regional authorities, which would make flights more affordable for consumers. Analysts are skeptical about this idea and argue that direct flights to Europe can become profitable only if passenger traffic increases: at the moment, flights to Munich cannot be performed daily.
According to the head of the analytical service of the agency "Aviaport" Oleg Panteleyev, the demand for this route will be mainly among businessmen, and as a tourist flight it is not suitable.
