At Vilnius airport stands a tree of things that were confiscated from passengers

Travel and Leisure reports that Vilnius Airport has published pictures of its unusual Christmas tree. It is made of things that were seized from passengers’ hand luggage during pre-flight inspections.

If you look at the tree, you can see that most travelers are trying to bring scissors to the plane. It is from them that the main part is made. For a stylish appearance, the designers painted them in silver.

Many knives: pocket, kitchen, stationery. Even the star crowning the tree is made of confiscated cheese knives.

The components of the tree were lighters, multifunctional tools, potato cleaners, shell casings, firearms.

Lithuanian airport officials say the facility was created to remind passengers of the importance of aviation security and what items should not be taken with them.

“If you don’t want your personal belongings on the New Year’s Eve next year, check your hand luggage requirements before you go to the airport,” the airport said.

The list of prohibited items in hand luggage depends on the country and the airport, but most often it is forbidden to carry corkscrews, pencil, stationery and hunting knives, nail kits, ski poles, fireworks, firecrackers, Bengal lights, lighters, liquid for refueling lighters, liquid with a volume of more than 100 ml. Also prohibited - axes, saws, blenders, dangerous razors, swords, daggers, sabers, some other items.
