In all unclusive Turkey will open a “society of clean plates”

Posters urging tourists to finish everything they took, as well as reduced plates may appear in popular resorts Turkey. The Orange Flag project is launched to reduce food waste.

The initiator of the idea A. Akgun believes that tourists leave a lot of uneaten food on plates. The problem of waste for Turkey is acute - food worth 214 billion Turkish liras is wasted annually in the country. About 250 hotels are expected to join the action.

“Punitive” measures are not provided, only incentives. The action involves small compliments to guests who will take as much food as they can eat, and posters urging guests not to overdo it with the overlay of food. Hotels will participate voluntarily.

Russian tour operators are confident that the situation will not become a problem for our tourists. Our compatriots are increasingly paying attention to proper nutrition, so today in hotels in Turkey it is not often possible to see a Russian tourist carrying “two plates with a slide”.

A large percentage of tourists observe the culture of consumption and can make comments to guests who do not adhere to such rules. According to experts, the action is included in the fashionable “trend” of reasonable and environmentally friendly consumption.
