Entry to Macedonia will be visa-free in the coming year

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia officially announced the abolition of visas for Russian citizens coming to the country for up to 90 days within six months.

As a rule, Russian citizens are required to visit Macedonia visa, which must be issued in advance in the consular department of the Embassy of Macedonia in Moscow. At the same time, visa-free entry into the country was previously allowed if there is a multiple-entry Schengen visa or the original invitation certified by the relevant authorities in Macedonia, or the original tourist voucher confirming the fact of payment for the hotel and other services for the entire duration of the trip.

Now tourists to travel to Macedonia need only a passport, an insurance policy and the necessary amount of money to stay in the country. This regime has been introduced by Macedonia in recent years, but earlier it was limited to the high tourist season, and since autumn our tourists have again required visas. The current innovation has already come into force and will remain in effect until at least March 15, 2013.
