Carnival begins in Brazil

The largest carnival in the world began last Friday, when the mayor of Rio de Janeiro presented symbolic keys to the city to the mythical lord of the carnival King Momo.

More than 850,000 tourists are expected to visit the carnival. The celebrations will last five days, and participation in them for everyone will be absolutely free. Millions of people across the country will take to the streets to take part in carnivals.

Carnival in Rio de Janeiro is fertile ground for romance and broken hearts: a five-day bacchanalia with thundering music, a river pouring alcohol and crowds of barely dressed and not very sober people. During the carnival, decency and moral foundations are forgotten - romances start quickly and end just as quickly.
