In Chebarkul want to make a copy of the fortress of the 18th century

The authorities of Chebarkul decided to develop tourism in any possible way. One of these is the reproduction of the fortress, most similar to the one that stood on this place in the 18th century. The head of the city approved the proposed competition for the best sketch of the future architectural and historical complex called “Fortress on Lake Chebarkul”. It is worth recalling that the developed city of Chebarkul began directly with the fortress, but to this day information about it is available only in small books and archives. According to the mayor, it is necessary to give residents and guests the opportunity to get acquainted with the origins of the formation of Chebarkul, as well as with the history of the Southern Urals. The future project wants to build on Cape Semerick, on the coast of Lake Chebarkul. The fortress should become functional: ethnographic holidays, excursions and theatrical performances will be held there. The architects are tasked with reconstructing the fortress that stood on the lake in 1736. The administration emphasizes that the building should be strictly historical, without any fabulous elements.
