In honor of the holiday of love and loyalty in Volgograd, a sculpture of St. Peter and Fevronia was installed

The holiday "Valentine's Day" is known to almost everyone, it is dedicated to all lovers. On this day - February 14, it is customary to confess love to their second half, give sweets and hearts.
But there is also a beautiful Russian holiday "Day of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom", and it is dedicated to family, love and loyalty. This holiday is celebrated by loving and faithful couples.

How is it celebrated in Russia?
On July 8, it is customary to confess to each other in love, to give chamomiles, which are officially a symbol of the holiday, you can give icons with holy loved ones, relatives, friends, and of course pleasant emotions!

Thanks to the nationwide program "In the circle of the family" in Russia already in 9 cities were installed sculptural compositions of the Saints. In the city of Volgograd, near the temple of John the Forerunner, a mortgage stone was installed, on the site of which, on the eve of the holiday on July 8, 2012, a monument was opened, which was cast by Smolensk masters. The sculpture is made in bronze, height - 270 cm, weight - 1.5 tons. The composition will be supplemented by 8 tablets with vital definitions regarding the structure of family life and conjugal love. The pedestal weighs 23 tons of granite and marble.

The grand opening of the work of the Smolensk master Konstantin Chernyavsky took place at 18 o’clock. During the concert program, 10 couples were awarded medals “For Love and Loyalty”.
