Egypt's duty free may ban the sale of alcohol
According to the Interfax news agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation is considering a complete ban on the sale of alcohol in duty free stores. The initiative stems from numerous complaints that the sale of alcohol does not comply with the Islamic principles by which the state lives.
According to local media reports, similar proposals have been rejected earlier due to pressure from shop owners. However, the issue will be brought back for consideration, as complaints are constantly received.
According to some politicians, such measures will not stop people from drinking, and, in addition, will adversely affect the tourism industry of the country.
