Egyptian and Turkish publications quote the director of Intourist S. Tolchin that the return of charters to Egypt could weaken the demand for Turkey in April and May, and affect the demand for the UAE, India, Vietnam, Thailand.

Egypt recalls the statistics of the past years to forecast the total foreign tourist flow. The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics of Egypt (CAPMAS) reported that foreign tourist flow to the country became the maximum in 2010: 14.7 million tourists arrived, of which 3.1 million were Russians. Rosstat: in 2014, 2.6 million Russian citizens rested in Egypt, and in 2015, before the closure of the direction, 2.38 million. In 2017, 94,000 Russian citizens arrived in the Arab country on their own.
