In the state Duma called not to develop mass tourism on Baikal
Head of the State Duma Committee on Tourism Sangadzhi Tarbayev (New People) noted that in such unique natural places as BaikalIn Yakutia and Kamchatka, it is important to take into account environmental aspects and prevent excessive tourism. This is necessary to preserve the natural heritage.
I believe that it is not necessary to set a goal in such places as Baikal, Yakutia, Kamchatka, that is, in the territories of unique natural creations, to develop mass tourism and invite the whole world there. The environmental component is very important, otherwise our children may not see Baikal, Tarbayev said.
The parliamentarian added that the organization of mass tourist flow in such natural places is not justified due to the anthropogenic burden on the environment. In the development of ecotourism, it is necessary to act very carefully and avoid the development of unique natural territories, even if we are talking about non-capital accommodation facilities.
