Which Asian countries will Russian travelers be able to visit in the near future?
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia has named Asian countries that may open to Russians in the near future.
India’s plans to open its borders to foreigners following Russian diplomats have been confirmed by the country’s officials. Tourism Minister Sripad Naik said inbound tourism could resume on October 15.
According to the official, this will be officially announced in the near future, there are already applications for the renewal of charters. First of all, we are talking about the tourist state of Goa, which asks to allow charters from Russia. From October 5, regular flights fly there from Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Conditions of entry to India for foreigners are unknown. Issuance of tours stopped. The country recognizes Sputnik V, so in theory, guests should be allowed in.
Malaysia is poised to open its borders in December if 90% of the local population is vaccinated by then. This was stated by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Now the country opens domestic destinations for local travelers. So, in the format of a biobubble for vaccinated Malaysians, Langkawi was the first resort to open. Tioman Island and the Malacca Peninsula are next.
Official statements on sanitary protocols for foreign guests were not made by the Malaysian authorities, but the country does not recognize Russian vaccines and flights with it have not been restored.
The Philippines is restarting international tourism. This will reduce quarantine for fully vaccinated travelers from 14 to 7 days. Such a concession awaits guests from the countries of the “green” list (with a small number of cases), but Russia is not included in it.
