What months do Russians prefer to travel?
The rating of demand for travel among Russian tourists by months of the year was presented by specialists of the tour operator Biblio-Globus. Experts analyzed more than 4 million sales in more than 50 Russian and foreign destinations over the past two years.
August, July and June became the most popular time to travel. These months accounted for about 40% of all tours sold in the company in 2016 and 2017. The popularity of the summer period for Russian travelers is associated with the fact that on these dates travelers from the Russian Federation plan the longest vacations. Also at that time, long holidays are held at Russian schoolchildren - travelers can go to rest with the whole family.
In fourth place in the top of the most popular months for travel, is September, accounting for 12.2% of sales, this is the time of the “velvet season”. The most popular months in the off-season, according to the company, are May and October, which fall into fifth and sixth place in the ranking.
In February, January and March, tourists often stay at home. For example, the share of sales in February was only 4%. Experts attribute this fact to unpleasant weather conditions in most popular tourist countries than in other seasons. But in winter, Russians want to travel to year-round countries for a beach holiday: Thailand, India, the Dominican Republic.
According to experts, the most popular destinations in winter among tourists were Russia, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, Cyprus and India. In spring, Russia, Cyprus, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Greece and the Czech Republic appear in the top.
In the summer, Russia, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, Montenegro and Bulgaria lead. For trips in autumn, tours in Russia, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, Thailand, the Czech Republic and India are the most popular.
