In which countries do Russians rest: TOP-10
The number of trips abroad to popular tourist countries in the first half of 2025 increased by 12.5%, while trips to the countries of the “near abroad” grew by only 4.3%. These data are provided by the FSB Border Service and reflect the departure of Russian citizens to foreign countries.
In the first half of 2025 (January-June), Russians made 13,659,132 trips to 138 foreign countries, which is 7.8% more compared to the same period in 2024, when 12,669,270 trips were registered.
The statistics do not include Belarus as there are no border controls between the two countries.
Slightly less than 26% of all foreign trips (3,542,230) of Russians in the first half of the year fell on 10 post-Soviet countries of the “near abroad”, which are mostly not tourist destinations.
- Turkey continues to be the leader of Russian outbound tourism, occupying a significant share. In the first half of 2025, Turkey accounted for 18.8% of all Russian trips abroad, which is almost every fifth trip. However, it is worth noting that about 150,000 of these trips can be considered transit, as they are mainly directed to Europe.

- China It ranks third among popular tourist destinations for Russians, with 1,041,171 trips, up 31.2% from the same period last year.
