Global e-visa system can work
Chairman of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Gerald Lawless believes that a global electronic visa system will appear in the near future.
According to the expert, many states will participate in it. “We believe that visas should be issued based not on which country a tourist is a citizen, but on whether that person is safe for the country where he wants to go,” said Gerald Lawless at a news conference marking the 25th anniversary of the Turkish company OTI Holding.
Gerald Lawless believes that countries that switch to electronic visa services will notice a noticeable increase in tourist flow.
Recently, Veniamin Kondratiev, the governor of Kuban, sent a proposal to the Russian Foreign Ministry in which he proposes to use electronic visas for foreign tourists in Sochi and in other resorts of the Krasnodar Territory.
It is worth noting that in the winter of this year, in the third reading, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law on simplified visa regime in the Free Port of Vladivostok and in some regions of the Far East.
