In Russia there are new rules for the departure of children abroad

From June 12, changes in the rules for the departure of Russian children abroad come into force.

A statement of disagreement on the departure of the child abroad will need to be submitted not to the border service, but to the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Applications are also sent to diplomatic missions or consular offices of the Russian Federation at the applicant’s place of permanent residence outside the Russian Federation.

When a child is traveling with one of the parents, adoptive parents or guardians, the consent to leave from the second parent is not required.

If a minor leaves unaccompanied by these persons, he needs a passport and a notarized consent of the parents with the specified departure dates and the state of destination.

When a child travels alone, and one of the parents, guardians, etc. filed a statement of disagreement on his departure, the minor will not be able to cross the border.
