In Russia can introduce a resort fee in all regions
The Government of the Russian Federation is discussing the option of adding a resort fee to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.
If this happens, from 2020, tourists in the regions will be required to pay an additional 2% of the price of accommodation.
A trial project can be launched in St. Petersburg, and the city authorities themselves took a similar initiative, for example, in December 2017, Governor Gennady Poltavchenko said this. At the end of August, this was discussed in the Finance Committee of the city. Alexei Korabelnikov, its chairman, decided to study the problem during the period of “zero” readings of the 2019 budget.
Other regions also want to tax travelers. According to Korabelnikov, the Ministry of Culture has already addressed this issue to a number of cities and regions popular with tourists. Within the framework of the Tax Code, you can develop a tool for obtaining additional income from tourists.
In Russia this year, during the experiment, a resort fee was introduced in four regions. From May 1, in the Stavropol and Altai Krai, tourists are charged 50 rubles / day, in the hotels of Belokurikhi - 30 rubles. In the Krasnodar region, 10 rubles per day are taken from July 16. The Crimean peninsula has postponed the experiment for 2019.
