There will be no winter time in Russia

In the autumn of 2011, Russia will abandon winter time. Thus, summer time will become permanent. For many Russians, this time will be more convenient: problems and difficulties associated with the transfer of watches will disappear, and the road home for most residents of the country will often fall during daylight hours. But there are some inconveniences associated with this transition.

As you know, the transition to summer and winter time is adopted throughout Europe and North America, as well as in a number of countries in the Middle East. Thus, until now, Russia has made the transition simultaneously with most countries with which Russia has intensive air traffic. Therefore, the schedule of most international flights has not changed with the change of time. In the coming autumn, the schedules will have to change, and it is possible that some airlines will eventually have to adjust the schedule of domestic flights.

Also, the difference of the Moscow time zone with Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and the Baltic countries in these five months of each year will reach two hours, with Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal - four, with most other countries - three. This will make travel less convenient in some cases. But at the same time, the time difference with several other countries will disappear in winter, in particular, the Transcaucasian and a number of Persian Gulf countries.
