Russia recorded a new trend of rest
In Russia, there is a growing interest of Russians to vacation in their hometowns in a number of regions.
In 2025, there is an increase in the number of reservations by local residents in Khabarovsk (by 30%), stavropol (27%) and Rostov-on-Don (5%). On average, every seventh booking in the country (15%) is carried out in accommodation facilities in their own settlements.
The survey, conducted among thousands of Russian travelers, showed that the main motivation of those who vacationed in their city was the desire to escape from the routine and spend time outside the home (12%), arrange a romantic date (7%), find solitude and silence (3%), as well as hold a party with friends (2%) or celebrate some event (2%). One in eight respondents admitted that they have never been a tourist in their city, but would like to try such a holiday (12% of respondents).
In 2024, high growth rates of bookings from local residents were recorded in Irkutsk (twice). Tyumen (half times) ufe (by 40%) voronezh (35%) kaliningrad (26%), Kazan (by 19%) and ekaterinburg (17 percent).
