In Rosturizm compare Russian and European resort fee

Oleg Safonov, head of Rostourism, reports that the maximum amount of the resort fee in Russia is 50 rubles, this figure is almost 10 times less than the European figure, and in the near future this duty will not be brought to world values.

According to the head of the department, from 2019 in the Russian Federation the resort fee will be limited to a limit value - up to 100 rubles.

“In Europe, where the quality of service and tourist infrastructure is high, the resort fee is available. <...> And the amount is incomparable – there and €5-6 (about 370-450 rubles at the current exchange rate), <...> it is many times more.

According to Oleg Safonov, it is too early to summarize the practice of introducing a resort fee in Russia, because less than a year has passed since the federal law came into force. The final conclusions will be made after analyzing the impact of the resort fee on the creation of infrastructure and the overall development of the tourist potential of the regions.

The resort fee is charged from vacationers from May 1, 2018 in the Altai, Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, in the Crimea. The fee does not include the cost of accommodation and is paid no later than the moment of departure from the sanatorium or hotel. The authorities in each region independently set the size of the resort fee.
