The Federation Council spoke about the obstacles in the opening of Egypt

Most of the points of the plan to ensure safe flights to Egypt have already been fulfilled, but there are still details that Russia needs to finish, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko told reporters on Wednesday.

“Work in this area is almost complete, most of the points of the plan to ensure the safety of air travel from Egypt have already been implemented, but there are a number of details that do not suit us,” she said.

Matviyenko stressed that Russia insists on the priority task – complete safety of Russian citizens.

She confirmed that her official visit to Egypt would take place in early March. "However, this visit is planned and has nothing to do with the restoration of air traffic," she said.
