In the US, a message in a bottle saved lives

Electronic resource Sanluisobispo reports: in the United States stuck on top of the waterfall family was saved thanks to a message in a bottle.

The incident occurred in the summer in Los Padres National Park, California. A resident of Morro Bay Curtis Watson with his beloved Crystal Ramirez and son Hunter walked in the reserve. On the third day, they rafted along the Arroyo Seco River and reached the top of the 12-meter waterfall.

Watson knew the area and took this route seven years ago. The man had a rope with him and planned to go down, but this time the flow of water was stronger and faster.

The family had to walk down a slippery ledge and tie the rope in a safe place. The travelers decided that they could not overcome the obstacle, and were left alone on the cliff without communication.

Watson unsuccessfully called for help and later scrawled the word "help" on his plastic bottle and lowered it downstream in the hope that it would be found. Inside he put a note, on which he marked his location.

The next morning, the family was taken to safety by helicopter.
As it turned out, the bottle with the message was noticed by nearby tourists who called for help.

“They didn’t leave their names or phone numbers, they just took it seriously and did what their heart told them to do. ... I cannot express how grateful I am to them.”
