In Thailand From January 2020, a minimum ticket price for foreign tourists will be introduced.

Tourists from Southeast Asia will have to pay at least 800 baht per day (1,700 rubles) to visit Thailand. Citizens of other Asian countries - 1000 baht (2,100 rubles).

For travelers from Russia, Europe, the United States, the price of the tour package will start from 1,500 per day (about 3,000 rubles), does not take into account the price of air travel.

The Tourism Committee of Thailand believes that the initiative is aimed at Chinese travelers and is designed to get rid of tours with zero profits.

The Russian representative office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) says that so far there are no special requirements for travel companies from Russia. The minimum is determined for the receiving companies.

This issue will be controlled by the Department of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, responsible for the registration and licensing of Thai travel companies.

The Association of Domestic Tourism of Thailand believes that standardization will protect tourists from illegal travel agents.
