In Tunisia, a resort fee is introduced
In Tunisian Republic The authorities are again introducing the resort fee.
Guests in Tunisia will have to pay three dinars (one euro) for each night in a hotel or licensed apartment. The fee applies to all travelers, except children under 12 years of age.
The resort tax existed in Tunisia until 2015 as a one-time tax. Tourists had to pay 15 euros when leaving the country. The collection was canceled after the terrorist attack at the resort in Sousse, which led to a rapid drop in tourist traffic.
The authorities of the Republic of Tunisia expect that in 2018 from the newly introduced fee, the country’s budget will be able to receive more than 51 million dinars (17.4 million euros).
