Hungary will be open to Russians with vaccination
From July 27, the Hungarian authorities will allow Russian tourists with a coronavirus vaccine to freely come to the country.
Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto: “From Tuesday, Russian tourists who have undergone a full course of vaccination against the coronavirus will be able to enter Hungary.”
Szijjarto noted that Russia and Hungary resumed flights on the principle of reciprocity. The same goes for the reception of citizens.
Hungary became the first EU country to approve the use of the Sputnik V vaccine, and also bought the drug from Russia.
Non-vaccinated tourists will need a PCR test done no earlier than three days before their trip. You will also have to go through a ten-day quarantine, which can be completed early if the tests taken during self-isolation are negative.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions imposed by countries, tourism has suffered more than other sectors of the Hungarian economy. In addition, the authorities are counting on the active demand for travel from Russian tourists, since in precocious times the country was a popular holiday destination among Russian citizens.
Russia resumed flights with Hungary on June 10.
