Russian citizens no longer need a visa to Turkey
At a meeting in May, the presidents of Russia and Turkey agreed to abolish visas. Finally, on July 27, the agreement came into effect. This means that citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to stay in Turkey for 30 days without a visa, and citizens of the Turkish state have received the same privileges. Until now, the visa was mandatory and cost $20. Simultaneously with the introduction of the visa-free regime, the readmission agreement (the transfer to the state of people who are its citizens and illegally staying in the territory of another state) came into force. Experts do not believe that the visa was a serious obstacle for travelers, but the image of a visa-free country should have a positive impact on the development of tourism in Turkey.
