Albania tightens entry rules for foreign nationals

From September 6, tourists will need a certificate of vaccination, a test for COVID-19 or a certificate of illness, the Russian Embassy in the Republic reported.

Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Albania, new requirements for foreign citizens entering the territory of Albania are introduced on September 6.

When passing the border crossing, foreign citizens must present one of the following documents: a certificate of full vaccination against the coronavirus (the last vaccination must be done no later than two weeks before the date of entry), a certificate with a negative PCR test result made not earlier than 72 hours before entry. Either a rapid test for COVID-19 antigen, done no later than 48 hours before entry, or a certificate of past disease within the last six months.

Russian citizens do not need a coronavirus PCR test or a vaccination certificate to enter Albania. In addition, the government of Albania until the end of 2021 abolished visas for Russian tourists. The visa-free period lasts 90 days from the date of entry into the country for up to six months.

On June 10, the headquarters launched charter flights with Albania. The Moscow-Tirana flight is operated by Ural Airlines once a week.
