Crimean authorities are not going to introduce a resort fee
It is not planned to introduce a resort fee in the Crimea, a bill has been prepared to recognize it as invalid.
Deputy head of the Ministry of resorts and tourism Yulia Martynenko explained that the decision was made on the basis of appeals from representatives of the tourist business.
There were significant reputational risks, as well as the risks of redistribution of tourist flow to the “shadow” sector of accommodation facilities, which puts legal accommodation in unequal conditions of competition, which in turn will not allow to fully implement measures to ensure income from payment for the use of resort infrastructure in the regions of Crimea.
On July 30, 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the introduction of a resort fee in the Crimea, Altai, Krasnodar and Stavropol territories.
It was planned that the resort fee will be introduced in the Crimea from May 1, 2019. Alushta, Sudak, Feodosia and Yalta were to participate in the experiment. The collection was approved 10 rubles per day.
In the spring of 2019, the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov said that the region is not ready for the introduction of the resort fee, and the parliament of the republic made appropriate changes to the regional law “On the introduction of the resort fee”.
The fee was going to be charged from May 2021, and then even later.
