Crimean authorities ask permission to withdraw from the experiment with the resort fee
Crimea chooses common sense – against the background of other regions that want to “squeeze” additional fees from the tourist, the Crimean authorities refuse to experiment with collecting a resort fee.
Acting Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko: In the Republic of Crimea, the date of the possible start of the experiment has now been postponed to May 1, 2021. At the same time, work is underway to amend the federal law to exclude Crimea from the territory of the experiment.
The minister said that the decision was made “on numerous appeals” of tourism practitioners, including hotel owners. “... the costs of administering this levy are comparable to the possible amounts to be received from it. In general, these are some image losses that could have been avoided.”
Back in the spring, the authorities of the peninsula decided not to participate in the experiment - this information was voiced by the head of the republic S. Aksenov.
He said that the prospect of earning 30-50 million rubles through the collection makes no sense, since the administration of the task costs the same amount. In this regard, I do not see any point in organizing a gathering for the sake of collecting and at the same time creating problems for tourists and tour operators.
