Resumption of flights to Egypt: new dates
The opening of air communication between the Russian Federation and the Arab Republic may take place in February 2018. This information was voiced by the head of the Ministry of transport Maxim Sokolov: Moscow will signal the signing of the document on the opening of air communication with Cairo, “everything depends on the Egyptian side.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin in Egypt after a meeting with officials said that Moscow is ready to start flights to Cairo. It can be assumed that while we are talking only about the opening of communication between the capitals, but tourists need a direct flight to the resorts of the Red Sea - Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada. Now in terms of security, Hurghada is ahead of all cities of the Arab Republic: there were no terrorist attacks at the resort, this cannot be said about Cairo and Sharma.
Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, said: After the terrible tragedy in the sky over Sinai, direct air communication between our countries was interrupted. During this time, the Egyptian side has done a lot of work to improve the level of security at airports, the Russian Security Service reported to me that in general we are ready to open direct flights between Moscow and Cairo.
The head of the Ministry of transport M. Sokolov calls February 2018 the time of opening flights between Russia and Egypt. The Russian side will soon study the option of signing a document on the restoration of air traffic with the capital of Egypt.
