Foreign tours for non-working days in November: where are Russians going?
After the announcement of non-working days from October 30 to November 7, 2021, sales of tours to Turkey and the Maldives for these dates doubled, to Egypt - by 30%.
This year, tourists actively booked trips for the November holidays even before the announcement of the non-working week, as this is the time of school holidays.
Vice-President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Dmitry Gorin noted that the announcement of non-working days caused a surge of interest in suntanning travel.
About 20% increase in sales per day in relation to last week was reported in the company “Intourist”: the demand is Turkey, Egypt, UAE. After the announcement of the non-working period in early November, Russians began to buy tours with races for a week.
For popular overseas destinations such as Egypt, Turkey, the UAE and the Dominican Republic, demand grew by 15-20% after the non-working week was announced. At the same time, a comprehensive tour will cost much more than an independent purchase of tickets. So, air tickets to Egypt are sold for 40-60 thousand rubles per person, and a tour package can be bought for 80-90 thousand for two, including a hotel, he told Izvestia.
