Wonderful exhibition opens
From December 4 to March 13, Sydney residents and tourists will be able to see unique samples of ancient art brought from China, where a stunning archaeological discovery was made at the end of the century. In 1974, in the vicinity of the city of Xi'an, peasants digging a well came across the wreckage of figures. Archaeologists have discovered there perfectly preserved 8,000 terracotta sculptures of warriors, armed with bows, crossbows, halberds, and
swords and even chariots drawn by four horses. This army guarded the tomb of the First Emperor of China, the great Qin Shi Huang, who died 210 BC. The statues of warriors are made by unknown sculptors in full growth and are real works of art. They were handmade. Each statue has its own unique features and even facial expressions. Scientists believe that these are portraits of real warriors.
Take a look at a small part of this eighth wonder of the world!
