Smoking ban in China

May 1st China Smoking bans have been introduced in many public places. This is important in a country where one-third of all smokers live. Smoking is banned in many public places.

But, unfortunately, anti-tobacco organizations, penalties and fines for violating the ban are not provided. As with other smoking bans, the Chinese will largely ignore the new rules. And owners of hotels and restaurants, as well as employees of railway stations – places affected by the new ban – will simply turn a blind eye to customers who smoke, so as not to lose revenue.

Interestingly, offices are one of the few public places where smoking is still allowed. Employees have the right to smoke in the workplace. Creating inconvenience for the non-smoking part of the office. Employers should regularly warn them about the dangers of smoking.

A year ago, similar bans were introduced in Shanghai, but few people pay attention to them. As a result, cigarette smoke still hangs in restaurants and bars.
