Residents of India because of the coronavirus for the first time were able to see the top of the mountains

CNN reports that the population of the northern state of Punjab (India) for the first time was able to see the top of the mountain range of the Himalayas due to environmental improvements during the outbreak of coronavirus infection.

Residents of the city of Jalandhar and its environs have been posting photos of the mountains on social media, saying they have not been able to see their peaks for decades.

“For the first time in nearly 30 years, I saw the Himalayas clearly as the air was cleared of pollution. That is amazing.”

Air quality improved after the shutdown of industrial plants and reduced traffic. The Central Council of India for Environmental Control found that on the first day of the restrictions, the airspace was cleaned by 44%. During the seven days of quarantine, the environmental situation has improved in 85 cities of the state.

Earlier it was reported that in Venice (Italy) because of the pandemic coronavirus purified water in the canals, as due to the cessation of navigation, precipitation descended to the bottom.
