Famous traveler Fedor Konyukhov plans new expeditions
On May 9, the traveler Fyodor Konyukhov reached Cape Horn and the Diego Ramirez group of islands (the southern point of Chile and South America).
Fyodor Konyukhov completed the first stage of his west-to-east circumnavigation of the South Pacific Ocean and became the first person in the world to travel solo from New Zealand to Chile on a fun boat.
Oscar Konyukhov, the son of the great traveler, said that his father is not going to travel by sea in the near future. New projects will be related to flights.
In the spring of 2020, Konyukhov plans to climb in a balloon to a height of 25 km - so he will beat the previous record of 21 km set by an Indian traveler. The flight will take one day, and the launch is scheduled for one of the locations in the Australian desert.
Fyodor Konyukhov also intends to fly around the globe twice without landing. At Cameron balloons (Britain), a manufacturer of balloons for Konyukhov expeditions, the flight can take about 20 days.
Around 2022, Konyukhov will travel around the world on a solar-powered plane. The prototype aircraft has already been built. This expedition the traveler is going to spend without landing in a week - ten days.
