What to see in Lillehammer

Lillehammer is a cozy Norwegian town on the shores of Lake Mjosa with a lively history and a special atmosphere of the Scandinavian province. Traditional wooden buildings, modern sports facilities and cultural initiatives are intertwined here, and walks through the streets give a feeling of proximity to nature and sincere northern hospitality.

Manufactures and facilities

Among the man-made attractions, the Sami theme park, which introduces traditional settlements, cuisine and crafts of the Sami, as well as the Ringebue Tower Church, a vivid example of ancient wooden architecture in Norway, is particularly prominent. The city promenade of Mjosa, local museums, monuments and neat historical quarters create a complete set of things to see in Lillehammer.

Natural attractions and places

Natural gems of the surrounding area include Lake Mjosa itself – Norway’s largest lake of about 365 km2 with warm summer lagoons, picturesque forests, hills and ski slopes nearby. The shores, trails and observation decks invite you to walk and cycle, boat trips and observation of nature at any time of the year.

Build routes and visit interesting places

On our site you can see all these attractions on an interactive map, read brief descriptions and build a convenient route. Routes can be customized according to time, interests and level of preparation: mark the points, save your favorite places and plan the best way to explore all significant locations.

You are free to explore the city on your own, following the laid paths and enjoying the atmosphere, or book excursions with local guides.
