Kazan

Kazan

Description:

On the tour we will see Kazan as a multi-confessional city. We will plunge into the atmosphere of an extraordinary city, where next to each other there are various operating religious buildings. And the people of Kazan live in peace and harmony. We will visit not only a Muslim mosque and an Orthodox church, but also a synagogue, a Catholic church and an Old Believer church. We will see a Lutheran-evangelical church and an Orthodox church, where services are conducted in the Kryashen language (close to the Tatar language).

We often believe that a trip, for example, to Europe, always involves a visit to the Catholic Church and only there we can immerse ourselves with the atmosphere of the Catholic faith, Christian sculptures and features of Catholic temple building. But we're debunking that myth. And we will see the old inactive Catholic church of the city (the date of construction of the first half of the 19th century), and a modern functioning church, built in the 21st century.

We will learn the history of the arrival of different religions in our ancient city of Kazan from the moment of its foundation, what events in the history of our state contributed to this, what was the number of religious communities before the revolution and at the moment, what traditions and customs characterize the adherents of each denomination, learn the basic dogmas of each faith and much more. And most importantly, we will visit and see these churches and learn the history of Kazan as an interfaith capital, where more than a hundred nationalities live.
