Road to the Golden Horde
Description:
The name of Ordynka Street speaks for itself. Once upon a time, long ago, in this part of Zamoskvorechye, lived "hordes", Tatars and Russian palace servants, who brought to the Horde letters from the Grand Duke. This area of Moscow for a long time, until the XVII century, was not densely populated and built up. Here stretched arable fields, gardens and royal gardens. Over time, numerous settlements began to appear, in which mainly artisans and craftsmen lived and worked. Big Ordynka Street still bears the imprint of the past.
