Yaroslavl

Kostroma meadow tract. On Nekrasov places + Village Vyatskoe

Description:

I invite you to travel along the ancient road that has connected Yaroslavl and Kostroma since time immemorial - the ancient Meadow Road. At one time it was won the first victory of Russian troops over the Mongol Tatars, it was a militia led by Minin and Pozharsky, it was transferred to the Decembrists in Siberia. Right next to the road in the village of Greshnevo stood the Nekrasov estate, where the famous Russian poet spent his childhood. We will see the family crypt and school in the village of Abbakumtsevo, which was once built by Nekrasov himself.

On the way we will stop in the village of Svechkino - the birthplace of the famous sculptor A. Opekushin, the author of the monument to A.S. Pushkin in Moscow.

But the main attraction of the former meadow tract today is the Ponyzovkin Castle, built on the banks of the Volga in the early 20th century and still attracts attention. If desired, you can arrange a tour inside the castle.

After leaving the ancient road, we will get to one of the most beautiful villages in Russia - the village of Vyatskoe. The village is a unique town-planning complex of the XVIII - XIX centuries with more than 50 registered architectural monuments, former merchant and peasant houses, tea and taverns, almshouses. Today there are several museums that you can visit.

Note: the road surface on many sections of the route is preserved in its original form.
