Tolga monastery

I invite you to visit one of the oldest monasteries in Russia - St. Vvedensky Tolga convent. It was laid in the distant 1314 year on the site of the miraculous acquisition of the Tolga icon by the Rostov bishop Prokhor. Great miracles and healings occurred thanks to the icon for several centuries. Russian tsars and emperors prayed before her, and Tsar Ivan the Terrible, after a long prayer, was healed from his foot disease here.
Today Tolga Monastery is an extraordinary beauty of shining domes of temples, incredible purity, silence and amazing grace that surrounds everyone who came here. Here you can just sit on a bench, feed black swans and ducks swimming in an ancient pond, visit a cedar grove planted in the 16th century or taste delicious monastery pastries with birch juice collected by nuns. And, of course, the main thing is to worship the miraculous Tolga icon. In addition to the Tolga icon, there are other shrines in the monastery: the relics of St. Ignatius Bryanchaninov, the myrrhaging icon “The Sign”, the miraculous list of the icon “Economissa”, written by the elders on the holy Mount Athos specifically for the Tolga monastery and helping in financial affairs.
